Over the past 23 years total african american enrollement has increased drastically. It went from 8,251,000 in 1980 to 10,971,000 in 2003. In 2003 59% of african americans anrolled in school while only 55% percent whites enrolled.

African americans have a much higher percent of high school drop outs compared to whites. 4.5 percent of blacks drop out in highschool while 3.7 percent of whites drop out. African americans may have a higher percent of their population enrolled but their dedication lacks.

My suggestion is to make highschool manditory so the percent of both black and white drop outs decrease. Schools should also include more black history in order to keep blacks interested in school.
